Sinking teeth into dental centre project at Bicester

The military community at Bicester Garrison is now benefitting from a newly refurbished dental centre, meaning they no longer have to travel far and wide for treatment.

Speaking of the £176k project, Principal Dental Officer Col Woodward-Court stated that the Centre has gone from being the one in greatest need of refurbishment to one of the best within the Defence Dental Services.

Delivered by MNW and headed up by PriDE’s Ray Preston and DIO’s Peter May, the project was delivered within nine weeks – a tight programme considering that a 200 metre mains cabling project was undertaken concurrently; and the Medical Centre was open throughout the duration of the project. The team had to liaise with the military personnel on a daily basis to ensure work would not impact operations and required utmost professionalism from the contactors, Inside Out Developments Ltd. The Centre was officially handed over at a ceremony at the beginning of the month.

Maj John Roskelly, QM at St George’s Barracks, stated that ‘the co-operation between all parties has been tremendous and we have been kept informed of progress throughout the refurbishment; we are very happy with the standard of the completed work’.
