PriDE manages Defence Estates’ South East Regional Prime Contract (SE RPC). Valued at around £380m, the SE RPC is one of five regional prime contracts currently in place in the UK.

SE RPC Fraud Check - best results across the whole of the MOD!

The SE RPC has been declared ‘extremely healthy’ following our second Fraud Health Check since the start of the contract.

The Ministry of Defence Police Fraud Squad carried out the second check in July 2009 and the report has recently been published. The squad visit a number of sites over three full days to investigate a number of areas including how PriDE raises awareness of fraud, reporting incidents and control strategies. The report states that a number of strengths were evident to counter the risk of fraud and the Fraud Squad were pleased with the way the contract had actioned the recommendations following the last health check in 2006.

SE RPC was delighted to have received green lights in all categories, and Becky Bland, Economic Crime Advisor for the Fraud Squad stated:
‘The latest final report was excellent with all green lights in the traffic light scoring system, an achievement which has not been matched in Fraud Health Checks across the whole of the MOD’.

 

 

 

 

 

SE RPC is the only Regional Prime to have volunteered to partaken in two health checks, and it is a great boost to see that the hard work of PriDE’s Fraud Prevention Manager, along with the Fraud Prevention Committee, has paid off. Poster campaigns, fraud auditing, training, site visits and guidance from Fraud Steering Group meetings have all helped to significantly reduce the risk of fraud on this contract. During the fraud year, which ended at the end of August 2009, there has been a reduction of approximately 60% of fraud investigations compared with the previous year, in spite of the UK’s economic recession we are currently experiencing.
