Award winning team at RAF High Wycombe

Station Commander Group Captain Judith Good awarded PriDE’s Alan Stones and his team the “Station Commander’s Good Show Award” in recognition of their service in the ‘@3’ quality of life project. The new community facility offers a dining and drinking area for those based on site as well as a family and games area.

The Station Commander stated

‘we certainly set Alan and his team some challenges in delivering this major initiative in a very short timescale – which they met fully. Certainly we could not have opened ‘@3’ on time without their commitment, flexibility and hard work’.

The three month project was completed by 31 March 2009 and cost in excess of £100k. It comprised a complete refurbishment combining EIP works with Station-injected funds; the entrance and side doors were replaced with double glazed units and male and female toilet areas were refreshed throughout, including baby changing facilities to both male & female rest rooms. The works also included the removal of asbestos and new energy saving lighting has been installed to the now modern and fresh facility.
