Project: Demolition of Three Blocks and Provision of New Car Park
Demolition of three large redundant buildings to create space for a 275 space car park, delivered within 36 weeks.
Use of modern controlled demolition techniques to enable virtually all of the material to be recycled. Majority of arising reutilised within current on site projects.
Two stage procurement process allowed demolition to take place while car park was designed: achieved earlier handover of facility.
Circa £2m - Delivered in 36 weeks.
Three redundant blocks at RAF High Wycombe were demolished and on completion, part of the site was used to provide additional car parking for staff based on the No 1 Site, whilst the remaining area was landscaped. In the medium term this landscaped area may be re-developed for further office accommodation.
During construction works the area to be landscaped was found to be located over a World War II tunnel system. A tunnel headhouse was provided to maintain security and waterproofing for the tunnel structure, with information regarding the tunnels now available for the future site developers.
